Shawn Burns

New Hampshire at FIU – 9.5 *(released and posted on Weds 9/11)

The FIU Panthers came into the season with big time hype and the expectations of competing for a Conference USA Championship. Things have not gone as planned as FIU was blown out by a solid Tulane team and then lost to Western Kentucky at home. Starting quarterback James Morgan left with a lower body injury and was replaced by Kaylan Wiggins who showed off his athletic ability, but struggled throwing the ball and finished with 41 yards passing.Morgan was able to return for a few plays in the fourth quarter and the staff seems optimistic that he will be able to play Saturday against New Hampshire. Morgan is one of the top quarterbacks in the conference and the Panthers need to get back on track. FIU has only scored 28 points combined in their first two games. New Hampshire comes into this matchup with a 0-1 record after losing to Holy Cross last weekend 13 to 10. The Wildcats went 4-7 last season and hope to bounce back in the CAA conference this season. This is the type of game that can get the Panthers back on track. When I saw the spread at less then two scores, I decided to lock it in. Butch Davis and FIU should roll on Saturday night.

Pick FIU – 9.5
