I am on the Irish here, we saw some fight out of Michigan last week against Penn State and I think it’s a tall task for this team to get up yet again against an Irish team that knows it needs to win out to have a shot of getting into the college football playoff. The Irish are coming off a BYE and have been getting geared up for Michigan ever since taking care of business at home two weeks ago against USC.
The game the Irish played vs Georgia told me everything I need to know about this team. The turnovers killed them in that game, and for a team that averages less than a give away a game, two of them vs the Bulldogs, in crucial spots really doomed them. The Irish still covered losing by six as a 15.5 point dog.
These teams have played virtually even schedules in terms of strength of opponents and the game of the year line was MICH -6. I do not think that adjustment is quite enough given how dreadful this offense has been. Notre Dame should be able to frustrate Michigan defensively and force Shea Patterson to beat them. I think the wrong team is favored here and like the Irish to make more plays on Saturday.
