Ole Miss is off a loss to a solid Memphis team, but a Memphis team they are clearly better than. Ole Miss really struggled to get anything done offensively as they managed just 172 yards. This has to feel like a sick dream or deja vu for head coach Rich Rodriguez who experienced weird/poor first game offensive performances. When he took over at West Virginia in 2001, in his first game the Mountaineers scored just 10 points and rushed for just 76 yards. In his second week, WVU rushed for over 200 yards.

A similar trend followed him to Texas when he went to coach there. The Rebels are hoping for this trend to continue as they look to break out offensively in their SEC opener. Their Qb made his first start last week and now has his feet wet, he also had to deal with constantly being behind the chains as Ole Miss struggled to move the ball on the ground vs Memphis. This should not be an issue against a much softer Arkansas front, making things a little easier on QB Matt Corral.
