Maryland’s starting QB Josh Jackson and starting RB Anthony McFarland (8 TDs, 340 yards) are both doubtful. Maryland played with backup QB Tyrell Pigrome last week vs Purdue and it did not go well – Maryland laid an egg and lost 40-14 to a Purdue team that isn’t good. There’s just 2 healthy RBs on the Maryland roster right now and Indiana’s defense has been solid, allowing just 283 ypg. Maryland’s pass defense has been an issue for them all season and they’re down starting CB Trino Ellis. Penn State threw for 398 yards on Maryland the last time Maryland played at home. Purdue played with a backup QB last week and threw for 420 yards and 3 touchdowns on them. Purdue also converted 11/18 3rd downs and Maryland is giving up 8.3 yards/attempt on the season. QB Michael Penix Jr. is having a good season for Indiana and has a few matchups he can take advantage of on offense. This line moved up this morning once injury news for McFarland and Jackson confirmed they’d likely be out, but the line move is justified against this Maryland team with their backup QB and RB. Indiana by 2+ scores.
