The Longhorns have struggled all season defensively and are currently allowing 470 yards and over 30 points per game. Much of the problem has been due to cluster injuries in the secondary. They could be missing their starting safeties as B.J Foster and Demarvion Overshown are game time decisions. Texas is giving up 310 yards passing per game which puts them at 123rd in the nation. It’s not all bad news as starting corner Jalen Green should be ready to play against TCU. Texas survived a shootout last week against Kansas as they scored 50 points and accumulated over 600 yards of offense. Sam Ehlinger is one of the top quarterbacks in the country and has led an attack that is averaging over 40 points per game.TCU is playing solid defense this season allowing only 281 yards of total offense and only 24 points per game. These stats don’t show the whole picture as they who been torched against the two top offenses, they have played this season. SMU scored 41 and Iowa State had 49 against the Horned Frogs. TCU has been inconsistent on offense thus far and some of that may have to do with the play of freshman quarterback Max Duggan. Duggan has performed better at home throwing for 453 yards with 6 touchdowns and has not yet thrown an interception. The Horned Frogs have some explosive weapons in Darius Anderson and Jalen Reagor and they both can score from anywhere on the field. Even with the up and down play of the TCU offense this game should fly over the total due to the Texas offense and in large part to the poor play of the Longhorn defense.
