Here is what we said about Kansas City -3 in Week 8, who won 45-10 over Detroit:

The Lions just had a crushing loss where they blew another big lead and are 1-6. They’re now 4.5 games out of the wildcard spot and have to think their season is done. The Lions were up on Minnesota last week only to blow the lead in the 4th quarter and end the game wondering what went wrong. They have had 2 other crushing defeats like this past one versus Minnesota – the first was in Week 1 when they blew a 21-3 to San Diego. The second was a crushing defeat to Seattle where they came up just short of a comeback. The Lions lost by a combined 35 points in the 2 games following those crushing losses and I have to imagine the Lions are feeling pretty down and out again after last week.

Kansas City, on the flip side, is in good spirits. KC is only 2 games out of the wildcard and if they win this week they have a shot to compete for it. They beat a good Pittsburgh defense last week and have some momentum rolling into this game. Detroit has the worst passing D in the league in terms of opponent QBR and that plays into the hands of a Chiefs team who is getting Jeremy Maclin back today. Prior to his concussion, Maclin had 19 receptions & 233 yards in 2 games versus the Bengals and Bears. He should exploit a bad Lions secondary.

Start Maclin & Kelce in fantasy today and enjoy a Chiefs win in London. Chiefs 27-17.

PS – the parents who dressed their kids up as baby Andy Reid for Halloween deserve some sort of recognition. I’d text them the hand-clapping emoji if I had their #.

Well done, parents. Well done.
