Below is a list of the biggest line moves from CG Technology’s advanced opening line report released in the spring. Some line moves are understandable while others are a mere overreaction to what happened from a small sample size of 60 minutes of football this weekend.

Ravens: -8 to -13.5 vs the Cardinals

Patriots: -8.5 to -14.5 at the Dolphins

Bills: +3 to -2.5 at the Giants

Cowboys: PK to -5.5 at the Redskins

Texans: -3.5 to -9.5 vs the Jaguars (*Foles broken collarbone)

Chiefs: -6.5 to -9.5 at the Raiders

Falcons: -1.5 to +1 vs the Eagles

The line that jumps out to me here as an overreaction (even though it’s not the biggest line movement on the board) is the Falcons’ line moving 2.5 points for their home opener vs the Eagles. The Falcons moved the ball pretty well yesterday but didn’t execute well on 3rd downs and in the redzone. They also coughed the ball up a few times. The Eagles’ secondary, which was a soft spot for them last year, got beat by the Redskins early yesterday. Chalk it up to Philadelphia probably taking the Redskins lightly early in the game, but the fact is the Falcons have a lot of weapons in the pass game and are a different team at home. They were also in a tough spot yesterday playing the Vikings in their home opener when they had something to prove after missing the playoffs. Atlanta is 10-1 ATS in their last 11 home openers and this one will be on Sunday Night Football. Expect the Falcons to play a much better game vs the team that sent them home packing in the 2018 playoffs.
