Giants come home this week after a huge road win at Tampa Bay in Daniel Jones’ first start. The Giants defense hasn’t shown much promise but they face a Redskins’ offense that has nothing going for them. The Redskins have a bad running game now that Derrius Guice is out and that showed vs the Bears and Cowboys the last 2 weeks. Two of their offensive lineman got hurt Monday night and their rookie star Terry McLaurin is banged up, so the Giants’ defense has an easier task today than they’ve had the last 2 weeks. The Giants come into this game feeling good, even with Saquon Barkley hurt, and you’ve got to consider than Daniel Jones made that 18 point comeback last week with Saquon on the sidelines. Jones will forcefeed Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard, who combined for 13 catches and 213 yards last week. Washington’s defense has been terrible and they just let Chicago’s offense get back on track last week. Daniel Jones’ running ability is another part of this offense and he can make plays with his legs if need be. There are valid rumors that Jay Gruden and Redskins DC Greg Manusky get fired this week if they lose to the Giants. On one hand that can make them come in more focused for this one, but they’re just a bad team and they’re facing a team coming in feeling real good about themselves and wanting to put on a performance in front of the home crowd. The Giants defense does just enough to get this cover.
