1.5 unit

Also on Melvin Gordon Over 93.5 yards rushing + receiving for a 1/2 unit play.

Kansas City gives up 5.1 yards per carry and the Chargers should run the ball heavy with Gordon and Ekeler. Russell Okung is out for the Chargers but Emmanuel Ogbah was just put on IR for the Chiefs and their Dline isn’t at full strength either. The Chargers can also move the ball with Ekeler in the passing game and Mike Williams and Keenan Allen on big third downs. Rivers is prone to throwing a few terrible interceptions but if he leans on Gordon it can limit his exposure down the field. Gordon’s heating up with 108 yards last week on 22 carries and 80 yards on 20 carries and 2 TDs the week before. The Chargers should have game planned for long drives in this game to keep the ball away from Mahomes. They did that vs the Raiders and just failed because Rivers made some bad mistakes. The altitude is 1.5x higher in Mexico City at this stadium than it is in Denver and the Chargers practiced all week in Colorado Springs to get used get used to the elevation but the Chiefs stayed home and didn’t spend any time prepping for the altitude change. If the Chargers are able to run the ball and convert on 3rd downs like they should, the Chargers will have an advantage late in the game keeping KC’s defense on the field. I’ll take the 6 points and look for Bosa and Ingram to make a big play to help the Chargers stay within this number.
