Georgia Southern has more talent, is bigger and has the better defense. If they play how they played vs South Florida and Ball St they can win the game. Wofford has a lot of shooters and if they get hot Georgia Southern could be in a little trouble but they lost their 2 best players from last year and as a team are only shooting 27.5% from three so far and overall are 229th in effective field goal %. Georgia Southern’s defense is holding teams to 29% from three. If Georgia Southern can contain them from three then they should have no problem winning on the boards because they’re just physically bigger than most of Wofford’s guys. Georgia Southern won at South Florida 53-41 and held them to 26% shooting. South Florida’s offense isn’t good but USF was up 11 on Auburn at one point. Georgia Southern should be able to score inside and really the only way this game opens up is if Wofford’s motion on offense gives Georgia Southern a ton of problems and Wofford has a lot of open threes. Georgia Southern has looked really good on defense so far and this is a deep team so I’m taking the 7 points in what should be a competitive game if they play how they’ve been playing.
