Akron’s off a 1 point loss vs a good St. Bonaventure team and tonight’s the MAC season opener. Northern Illinois’s defense has been bad all season and they just gave up 103 vs Iowa and they’re 0-5 in their last 5 lined games (they won 1 game vs a non D1 team and there was no line on the game). Akron got one of their best players back a few weeks ago, Ali Ali, so they’re trending up and going to get better. This was a tournament team 2 years ago that went down to the wire with UCLA as 15 point underdogs and they have a lot of the same core from that team. They’re 5-2 their last 7 games vs Northern Illinois and Northern Illinois’ last home game had only 800 people at it.
