St. Mary’s +3 vs UCLA – 2.5 units
St. Mary’s is really good on both sides of the ball and can win this game. When they beat Gonzaga a few weeks ago they held them to 57 points and 5 for 15 from three with 14 turnovers. They led by 16 in that game and outrebounded the Zags. Akron led almost the whole game vs UCLA and had the ball with 5 seconds left down 2 with a chance to win. Akron’s guards were able to score on UCLA in a lot of pick and rolls and Tommy Kuhse and Logan Johnson for St. Mary’s are both really good guards and can do the same. Juzang went close to 20 mins without a field goal the other night and St. Mary’s defense is tough to score on. UCLA is very talented but not unbeatable and going from hunter to hunted this year is a little tougher situation for them to be in. St. Mary’s is really impressive with their ball movement and Alex Ducas can get hot from three and Tass is really good inside. UCLA scored 57 vs Akron and had to hit some really tough contested threes to come back and take the lead and I think they have a hard time gaining separation and St. Mary’s will have a lead late in this game.
