Arkansas State @ UNLV

A consistent weakness for UNLV under Tony Sanchez has been a defense that routinely allows 450 yards per game. After bullying Southern Utah in Week 1 the Rebels defense will be tested by Logan Bonner and Arkansas State this weekend. Bonner played very well in the Red Wolves’ loss to SMU, completing 32 of 50 passes for 324 yards and 4 TD with a single interception. UNLV lacks a dominant pass rusher, and mustered only 4 sacks against a Southern Utah team that it held a considerable edge over in the trenches. Bonner should be able to continue his effective passing against the secondary this weekend. On the other side of the ball, Arkansas State will have its hands full containing the rushing tandem of QB Armani Rogers and Charles Williams, both of whom combined for 257 yards rushing in Week 1. Rogers will need to be an effective passer against Arkansas State, as they allowed Shane Buechele to complete 30 of 49 pass attempts last weekend. The issue, is that Rogers has a powerful arm that he can rarely contain. Bettors have seen a flip in this line, as Arkansas State opened -1 but are currently catching 1.5 in most books. Back the original favorite here.

Pick: Arkansas State +1.5
