Louisiana Tech is another team that has struggled thus far but has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Quarterback J’Mar Smith threw for 220 yards and a touchdown on Saturday in an uncomfortable win over Grambling. The Bulldogs have the talent to win a conference championship, but the offense needs to be more consistent and put some points on the scoreboard.

  • Bowling Green was out gained 521 to 140 last week against K-State holding the ball for just over 17 minutes of game time, and their deepest penetration into the K-State defense, the 32 yard line, came in the third quarter after the game was basically over at 45-0.
  • La Tech QB J’Mar Smith has been great going 51-76 for 551 yards, three touchdowns and just a single INT.

They have only scored 34 points in two games which is not going to cut it once conference play begins in two weeks. Tech has the talent advantage against the Falcons and should win by two scores. The Falcons have over 20 walk on players and they don’t have the depth of Louisiana Tech on either side of the ball.

I wish I would have jumped at this game earlier in the week when it opened at -9. Even with the higher number I’m confident Tech will win big over Bowling Green this weekend.
