DeSean Jackson is confirmed out. Alshon Jeffrey and Dallas Goedart are questionable and may play. Regardless of whether they play or not, the Eagles still can run their offense through Miles Sanders, Zach Ertz, and Jordan Howard and can move the ball. When I locked Detroit +7, I didn’t necessarily like it for 2 units as I know the Lions’ defense still has some holes I’m not comfortable with and the Eagles are still very good at home, but that was 100% a 2 unit play that we weren’t getting better than +7 at any point in the week and that Eagles’ injury news would make this line drop down. I anticipated a nice middle opportunity here with some key numbers. Now it sits here at -4.5, giving me a really nice middle in a game I can see being decided by one score. If it lands on 7, I push Detroit and make money on the Eagles. If it lands on 5 or 6 I stand up and yell Yahtzee at the end of the game. If it lands on 1-4 or the Lions win outright, I lose .2 or .3 units but had the chance to pickup +4 units with a max risk of .3 unit. This is a long-term play, I’m not playing checkers for Sunday 9/22.
