Kent State at Ohio – 7.5
Kent State is 2-0 in conference play with wins over Akron and Bowling Green. It’s an impressive start to the season for the Golden Flashes. Kent State has not had a winning season since 2012 and only had two wins in 2018 and 2017. Ohio is 1-1 in conference play with wins over Buffalo and a close loss last week to Northern Illinois. The Bobcats are 2-4 overall with close defeats to Pittsburg and Marshall both on the road. Quarterback Nathan Rourke is the leading passer and rusher and is one of the top players in the history of the MAC conference. He has over 8,000 total yards 89 touchdowns.
Ohio is still the favorite to win the MAC East and they have the most talent in the division and a great coach in Frank Solich. This is a game that Ohio makes a statement and gets back on track. Ohio has had a ton of injuries and they starting to get healthy. Sean Lewis has done a great job in his short time leading Kent State, but they are in a tough spot heading into Athens, Ohio. The Bobcats have the homefield advantage and the better overall roster. Look for Ohio to win by at least two scores.
