Riding with the Giants to right the ship over the Redskins tonight. I’m well aware of the fact that the Giants blew their first 2 games, trust me. The thing that sells me on this game though is that the Giants were literally in the same exact position last year: they were 0-2, blew the first 2 games and then blew out a tough, pesky Texans team by 13 in Week 3. They went on the road the next week and destroyed Kirk Cousins and the Skins 45-14 in this same Thursday Night Football scenario.

Now the Giants are in East Rutherford with their backs against the wall and, despite how the first 2 weeks went for them, they have reason to be optimistic:

1- They should’ve beaten a fully loaded Cowboys offense.
2- They were up 10 over Matt Ryan, Julio Jones & the Falcons in the 4th quarter.
3- Their offense moves the ball with relative ease.

And, again, they’ve been here before.

Maybe I’m wrong and this Giants team will shoot themselves in the foot once again. But I know this – if I’m Tom Coughlin I know how to motivate my men for this game tonight. If I’m Coughlin I’d be in the locker room all week reminding these men over and over that they are the better team here and they’ve been here before. They had their backs against the wall last year and got the job done in Weeks 3 and 4. They just gave Tony Romo and Matt Ryan a difficult time on defense and we can certainly do so vs. Kirk Cousins who they’ve already beaten.

Kirk Cousins is 1-5 for his career on the road and Eli Manning is 15-6 lifetime vs. the Redskins. I don’t think the Skins are as bad as everyone thinks but I do know that they are going up against a physical, underdog Giants defense under Spagnuolo and have to beat a desperate team in primetime on the road. My play is on the Giants tonight.
